Sea Dragon
Support the voyage

Help get him to the start line

There are two ways to help. Chip in on GoFundMe, or bring your company on board as a partner. Every dollar and every piece of gear goes into the boat and getting Tim home safe.

Path one

Public donations

The public campaign runs on GoFundMe with a goal of $100,000. Any amount helps, and you can see the total climb on the GoFundMe page.

Path two

Corporate partnerships

Sponsorship is for companies: cash partnerships, equipment and technical support. It's counted separately from the GoFundMe total and never added to it.

Where the money goes

What your donation pays for

The $100,000 public goal is the refit budget: the work that turns a 1980s cruising ketch into a boat that can sail around the world without stopping.

Boat infrastructure

The systems that keep Sea Dragon sailing, steering and powered for months without a port.

Spare sails

A torn sail in the middle of the ocean has to be replaced from what's on board.

Ropes and spares

Spares of just about everything, because there's no chandlery at sea.

Offshore upgrades

Changes that turn a cruising yacht into a boat built for a non-stop lap of the planet.

Emergency equipment

The gear Tim hopes he never has to use.

Supplies and maintenance

Food, water, stores and the upkeep of the boat before and during the voyage.

No money? You can still help

Share this site with someone who loves sailing, adventure or a good comeback story. If you work for a company in sailing, marine gear or prosthetics, tell them about the sponsorship options.
